Ossuary

Terri Lynn Traulsen

Where we give thanks we ground
into the ceremony that swims
in our blood down through
the resonate song of demise
deep in our bones.

Where we find life we die
to the motion of ourselves;
give way to the grief cycle
and pray from the centre of the wheel,

While around us Death circles.
We dance here in stillness,
fiercely silent to bear witness.

Palms to the ground,
feet silent to hear a
chorus of beating hearts
applaud this thunderous barrow.
