These talented people have shared with us some of their queer life through poetry and art. Enjoy!
Michaella Batten is a bi writer and poet who currently lives in Wales, UK but we first met in a poetry class in New Westminster. Santiago Ureña is a trans, mixed-race Latin American poet, musician and creative writing student at Douglas College. Dyan Marie’s work includes text, images and place-making through projects of public art, curating, walking systems, publications, banner projects, community initiatives, festivals and poetry events. Emory Oakley is a spoken word poet, fiction and non-fiction writer, and performer from Vancouver, BC. Genevieve Caron is a tattoo artist who gets much of her inspiration from mythological creatures and memes. She was born and raised in Vancouver and has been a fine artist since birth. Jude Goodwin is a queer poet and writer from Vancouver with a Caron bee tattooed on her arm and and about 750 poems in her dropbox. She’s currently pursuing a degree in Creative Writing at Douglas College.
