SEA TO SKY REVIEW
life ISSUE
VOLUME 4. ISSUE 1. JANUARY 2023
The Encyclopedia Britannica defines life as any system capable of performing functions such as eating, metabolizing, excreting, breathing, moving, growing, reproducing, and responding to external stimuli. The pieces in this issue indeed give evidence of this life in all its deliciousness, beauty and awful contrasts. A flaming ottoman speaks of one woman’s battle with cancer, a city of lavender and flamingos buries its dead warriors and children, a family of swans grows and then dwindles, women cook, women marry and divorce, a man plays hockey. All this and more in these pages where the writer and reader dare to live.
